Eco-Hero Connects Webinar – Policy to Power: A Youth Guide to Legislative Advocacy

How do young change makers turn grassroots passion into real-world policy and law? Join Action For Nature on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM PDT for our upcoming Eco-Hero Connects webinar, Policy to Power: A Youth Guide to Legislative Advocacy!

In this interactive 60-minute panel, four award-winning Action For Nature Eco-Heroes will break down the practical, step-by-step strategies they used to pass groundbreaking legislation, champion marine and environmental justice, and advocate on local, national, and international stages. Whether you want to draft policy, present testimony to lawmakers, or rally your community for environmental change, this session will give you the practical toolkit you need to make your voice heard in policy spaces.

Madhvi Chittoor from Arvada, Colorado, is the founder of the Plastic & Styrofoam Ban Campaign. Her relentless advocacy led to the passage of HB21-1162, banning single-use plastic bags and styrofoam containers statewide across Colorado, as well as replacing styrofoam lunch trays across 155 schools for 86,000 students.

Diana Michaelson from Long Beach, California, is the founder of the Long Beach Green Schools Campaign. She successfully mobilized her community over two years to pass a unanimous board policy transitioning the third-largest school district in California off fossil fuels and onto 100% clean energy by 2045.

Romaan Jawwad from Lahore, Pakistan, is the founder of Eco Shores: Safer & Healthier Oceans. She prototyped robotic pingers on fishing nets to protect endangered blind Indus River dolphins from accidental entanglement and continues to advocate for stronger legislative protections for aquatic ecosystems.

Eesha Ande from San Antonio, Texas, is the founder of Empowering Menstruators. She engages in direct legislative advocacy on Capitol Hill and presented at the UNA-USA Global Leadership Summit to combat period poverty and plastic waste through sustainable menstrual hygiene initiatives.

Attendees will learn how to approach local city councils, school boards, and legislative bodies, discover step-by-step tips for drafting policies, testifying, and building community coalitions, and gain practical tools to overcome age barriers and leverage youth voices for lasting policy impact. The session will conclude with an interactive live Q&A where you can ask our youth leaders your policy questions!
