Where Are They Now? 2026 Update:

Since his early days as a youth ambassador and Eco-Hero, Justin Friesen has built an impressive career at the intersection of creative media and professional communications. After his foundational years in Nova Scotia, Justin moved to Toronto to study at the prestigious Ryerson University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Radio and Television.

Justin has successfully transitioned his early talent for media production into a robust professional career. He currently serves as the Creative Director at Canoe Financial in Toronto, one of Canada’s fastest-growing independent investment management firms. In this role, he leads visual storytelling and brand identity, proving that the communication skills he developed as a child interviewing world leaders have translated into high-level corporate leadership.

In addition to his corporate work, he continues his passion for visual arts through Justin Friesen Films, where he directs commercial and documentary projects for global brands like Google, Canada Goose, and Scotiabank. His work often reflects the same deep appreciation for human connection and the environment that he voiced as a ten-year-old. You can follow his professional milestones on LinkedIn and see his latest creative work on Instagram.
